Do you find that you simply cannot memorize your bank PIN number? A little town in southwest England is the place to go every time you need to withdraw money. A new cash machine unveiled in April 1998 at the head office branch of Nationwide Building Society in Swindon does away with secret codes and dispenses money "at the blink of an eye." Customers will have a digital picture of their iris - the colored portion of the eye - taken the first time they go to the bank. The system is able to capture over 250 cognition points and translate them into a "human bar code." A camera mounted on the ATM will then examine the customer's iris and dispense money only if a proper match is found.

I like to view this as another reminder that each human being is uniquely and individually made by our Creator. It is encouraging to know that God has not stamped us out of a cookie cutter, but rather that He has made no two of us alike.

A father noticed that his young daughter was busy drawing a picture, so he asked her what she was drawing. She replied, "I’m drawing a picture of God." The father protested: "But, sweetheart, no one knows what God looks like!" She responded, "They will when I finish the picture."

The reverse is actually true: God is in the process of drawing the picture of your life and mine, and we cannot know yet what the finished product will look like. In fact, when we examine our own lives, we sometimes see nothing more than an undone "connect-the-dots" drawing; we know that a finished picture is in there somewhere, but we have no way of making out its details.

But we can know this: The finished picture will be something fantastic!
